Ninety Sky in ChatGPT: privacy policy
Effective October 1, 2026. Ninety Sky is operated by Ali Yazdi. This policy covers the Ninety Sky plugin and its forecast panel in ChatGPT. Contact hello@ninetysky.com.
What the plugin uses
- Your place search: the town, ZIP code or place text you enter is sent to our server for lookup. The selected place’s coordinates are used to retrieve its forecast.
- Forecast requests: a randomly generated place reference and your chosen outing duration or outlook length are used to show weather and compare departure times.
- Display settings: your compact-display preference is saved in local browser storage. It is not sent to the plugin server.
- Network metadata: the hosting infrastructure processes network and request metadata, including IP addresses, to operate the service. Application request-access logging is disabled on the plugin service.
The plugin does not request your full conversation history, create a Ninety Sky account, collect background device location, register rain-alert subscriptions, or process purchases. It contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information.
Why we use it and who receives it
We use place searches and forecast requests to find the place you choose, retrieve weather, display forecasts and help you plan time outside. Selected place names and forecast results are shared with ChatGPT when you choose a place or request weather or planning help. OpenAI handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Railway hosts the plugin and the existing forecast service. Place searches use Ninety Sky’s existing geocoding providers: Photon, Nominatim and Zippopotam.us. The forecast service retrieves public weather data from NOAA, the National Weather Service and dynamical.org. OpenRouter and its routed AI model provider receive weather-model numbers and the place name for forecast reasoning; they do not receive your IP address or conversation history from this plugin.
The Ninety Sky privacy policy explains the existing forecast service’s processing and providers. Features described there for the iPhone app, such as location permission and rain-alert registration, are not activated by this plugin.
How long information stays
- The plugin keeps randomly generated place references and their coordinates in memory for up to one hour.
- Forecast display references stay in memory for up to five minutes. Both caches are erased on a service restart.
- The compact-display setting stays in local browser storage until you change it or clear the panel’s site data.
- The existing forecast service’s request logs are retained for up to 30 days under the main Ninety Sky privacy policy. Forecast records and accuracy scores are kept per forecast cell, rather than as a history of your movements.
- Railway may retain infrastructure network and request metadata for operational purposes under its hosting retention practices. ChatGPT conversation and tool data follow OpenAI’s retention and account settings.
Your choices
Choose places by name or ZIP code; the plugin does not ask for device-location permission. You can choose another place, close the panel, remove the plugin, or clear its local site data. Use ChatGPT’s controls to manage information held by OpenAI. For questions or requests to access or delete information held by Ninety Sky, email hello@ninetysky.com.
